Top 5 Afternoon Shows
While Vegas is world-renowned for its nightlife, there is also great entertainment to be found while the sun is still up – if you know where to look. Here are our top 5 picks for the city’s best afternoon shows.
Mac King
In his heyday, Wayne Newton was known as the Midnight Idol. If Las Vegas has a mid-day idol, it is Mac King. King delivers a comedy magic show in which the comedy and the magic are as good as you’ll see anywhere after dark. The Kentucky native doesn’t need white tigers or elaborate set pieces to dazzle an audience. His sleight of hand is so accomplished that even simple rope and card tricks become works of art, especially when accompanied by King’s quick wit and engaging personality. Tue-Sat: 1PM and 3PM.

Brian Hoffman: Remembering Red – A Tribute to Red Skelton
One doesn’t have to be old enough to remember Red Skelton to enjoy this show, but those that do are sure to feel a nostalgic rush as Hoffman recreates many of Skelton’s best-loved characters. For those traveling with kids, this is probably the most family-friendly show in Vegas – the comedy is clean and children under 12 are admitted free. Sat-Tue: 2 PM.

Adam London: Laughternoon
Adam London’s style of comedy magic is similar to Mac King’s, but with more rubber ducks. For some reason the guy loves ducks and incorporates them in several pieces throughout the show. As with most afternoon shows in Vegas, coupons are easy to find for reduced admission – one even includes free ice cream after the show. 4PM daily.

Jeff Civillico: Comedy in Action
He’s a comedian and a remarkable juggler, but that doesn’t begin to describe the content of Jeff Civillico’s high-energy show. The guy never stops moving, whether he’s in the audience setting up a soon to be embarrassed ticket holder, or performing the kind of stunts you don’t see on Vegas stages. Sat-Mon, Wed-Thu: 4PM.

Murray: Celebrity Magician
You might have seen Murray Sawchuck on America’s Got Talent, where he made an actual train locomotive disappear. He didn’t win but it got him a steady gig at the Tropicana. No trains in this show, but Murray does pull off some pretty spectacular illusions, including a couple that are performed in the middle of the audience. Sun-Thu: 4PM.
