How many times have you gone into a restaurant that advertised vegetarian dishes and discovered that the only things on the menu were nothing more than the same old tired salads? Well, welcome to Las Vegas, where you can find fabulous gourmet vegetarian food. Listed below are just a few of the best Vegas has to offer from Italian to Chinese cuisine. The restaurants may not be totally vegan, but these eateries are serious about preparing great vegan dishes.

Sinatra

Tip: Start out with the vegan Caesar Salad. You won’t be sorry. The Sicilian-style Couscous made with a vegetable caponata and fresh herbs is luscious, as is the Gardein Marsala covered with vegan cheese and baked in Marsala sauce with mushrooms and potato gnocchi. The menu is small but you won’t be disappointed at all in the fabulous dishes. The staff at Sinatra treats you like old Italian family and the service is great. This is vegan fine dining at its best.

Panevino

A local favorite, Panevino isn’t strictly vegan but has an excellent Italian vegetarian menu, which includes their new deliciously layered lasagna. The homemade vegetable burger may seem a bit pricey but when you see what is in it, you won’t mind. Eggplant, mashed potatoes and two types of mushroom with roasted red peppers and drizzled with white truffle oil on focaccia with grilled asparagus, roasted tomatoes and warm veggie broth on the side are an incredible inducement to eat nothing but vegan. Panevino is one of those restaurants with fabulous atmosphere and great service. Ssshh! It’s a secret among the locals but sharing those secrets is only fair.

Menu items include veggie pizza, eggplant parmesan and a really elegant Jamaican style jerk chicken (made of tofu of course) served with a creamy cucumber yogurt sauce. Veggie House

Veggie House is a favorite with locals in Las Vegas for vegan Chinese food, whether they are vegetarians or not. Good prices and a mind-bogglingly large menu makes it a bit difficult to decide what to order. The Spicy Crispy Eggplant is out of this world and you would swear the General Tzo was the real thing. Service is fast, the food is amazing and you will be very happy with the experience.

Komal

Komal has been around since 1986 and just gets better every year. With some of the best Thai and vegan food in the area, you may want to see why it gets raves. The Chili Mint is wonderfully fragrant and delicious, sautéed with just enough garlic, hot peppers and basil to give you a flavor sensation. The Mongolian Tofu is stir fried tofu with bell peppers, onions and their fabulous Mongolian sauce and topped with crispy noodles. Service is good and the prices are moderate.
