Celine Dion is so the queen of Las Vegas, and her show at the Colosseum at Caesars is nothing short of incredible. The show is elegant and spectacular at the same time, a logistically seductive miracle in itself. A full 27-piece orchestra accompanies Dion on hits both old and new that are guaranteed to please not just die-hard Dionistas but new listeners as well. An endearing video montage of the star with her children opens the show, and it is an entertaining look at the singer’s life.

Caesars Palace Colosseum is huge, but the seating gives you a perfect view no matter where you are seated. The LED panel on stage is bigger than ever, and it is nicely used in multiple sequences. The Québécoise belts out song after song with a powerhouse voice that reaches every level of the stadium. Usually the show starts late, but not by much, and runs for about two hours. Security is tight, so allow time when you arrive and ushers will wait till a song is finished to seat anyone. Between costume changes, a small combo takes over, complete with a violin and cello, and is very intimate. The focus of the show though is Celine Dion and she never disappoints.

The songs range from old standards such as “The Power of Love” and the finale is a wonderful rendition of “My Heart Will Go On.” No matter how many times the audience heard it in the past, look around and you’ll notice there is not a dry eye in the house as the crowd is on its feet and cheering at the same time. This a love fest. The dress code is basically come as you wish. However, with all this elegance it might be nice to actually dress up.

Ticket prices start at around $55, but Caesars offers a few different Celine deals. There is dinner at the Planet Hollywood Restaurant or The Palm Restaurant in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace with a ticket to see the show for about $102.00 per person. There is also the Ultimate VIP Package where you will learn how it feels to be a rock star and sit in the first five rows of the orchestra for the same price. Shows are ongoing Friday through Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Dark on Thursday. This is a child friendly show.
