Everyone knows Mexican food, but not done like this. Mundo puts an upscale, trendy twist on Mexican and calls it Latin Chic.

The presentation is important here. It’s the attention to detail, both on the plate and in person that makes Mundo stand out. It’s pricey compared to some of the hole-in-the-wall places you’ll find around town, but it’s also a much different experience.

The way the menu is constructed you can order your own main dish or you can share a bunch of appetizers tapas style if you like to try different flavors. The chimichurri sauce tends to go well on meat items so look for that option on steak. They have the traditional Mexican dishes here, but there’s also a coastal influence that sets it apart. From scallops to shrimp to sea bass, even non-meat eaters can enjoy a trip here and not feel like every dish needs to weigh them down. To add to the lighter fare, there is a vegetarian section as well as side dishes that can spice up your night and keep you feeling less full.

From the decor to the menu items, there is a contemporary feel to Mundo. It’s nice to see that the manager really puts an effort to respond to feedback and make customers feel welcome and appreciated. It’s only a matter of time before this restaurant gets discovered and once it does, there may be no holding it back!
