On July 25, 2014, what happens when you take two of the all-time top rock and roll bands and add in one of the best songwriters and lead guitarists in the business? You get the “Soundtrack of Summer” tour presented by 97.1 The Point. It’s the perfect time to rock and roll, and the Orleans Arena is presenting this spectacular show starring Styx and Foreigner in their “Soundtrack of Summer” tour with ultra-special guest Don Felder (former lead guitarist and songwriter for the Eagles) on July 25 at the Orleans Arena. This is so much better than blasting their songs on the radio!

Together, these bands have sold over 250 million albums, had 36 number one hits and you know you still sing along when their music hits the airwaves. Styx has been around since the mid 70s with great hits like “Come Sail Away,” “Too Much Time on My Hands,” and “Lady.” Foreigner is famous for many songs such as “I Want to Know What Love Is,” “Juke Box Hero” and “Feels Like the First Time.”

Don Felder is admired as one of the best guitarists in the business and wrote the title track for the Eagles album, “Hotel California.” It sold over 16 million albums in the U.S. alone and over 32 million around the world. “Hotel California” holds a high rank on Rolling Stone’s list of greatest 500 songs of all time and was such a runaway hit it’s still one of the most played rock songs.

In addition to classic songs recorded by Styx and Foreigner, “Hotel California” has been rerecorded in a new version, which you can hear live at the concert. There is going to be a lot of hand waving at this incredible, high-energy show. It is going to be one of the hottest musical events of the summer.

This is a one-day only event scheduled for July 25 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are priced from $55.00
